In a shipyard in Greenport I discovered a rusty tugboat covered in barnacles. The barnacles remind me of fields of flowers, like cherry blossoms. Some people see a rusty tugboat, some people see fields of flowers. I choose to see flowers. I photograph what I see and use no software manipulation.


Rust in Bloom was recently named the winner of the 2018 Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers Photographers. In 2017, Rust in Bloom No. 9 was a finalist for the 11th annual International Color Awards.
